Paris MoU guidance on COVID-19 updated and available for the industry

Source: Paris MOU - Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Paris MoU) acknowledged the crisis which the international shipping industry was facing. In view of the continuing effects of the crisis, the end of which cannot yet be foreseen, the Paris MoU has amended its previously drafted guidelines.

Paris MOU Releases Black-Grey-White List for 2015

The list covers the period 2012- 2014. France continued at the top of the White list with Hong Kong moving up 4 spots to number 2 and Bahamas moving up 8 to number 3. The United State made the biggest move up 17 spots courtesy of having 34 inspections and 5 detentions from 2011 dropping off the score card. Who says statistics aren't your friend.

Statutory Alert: Port State Control – Caribbean MOU

Our friends at Lloyd's Register brought the following to our attention - The Caribbean Memorandum of Understanding (CMOU) on port state control will launch its second concentrated inspection campaign (CIC) on 1 September, 2014. This will focus on ensuring compliance with SOLAS Chapter II-2 and the International Code for Fire Safety Systems on board ships.
